The JEECUP 2026 exam concludes on May 22. Within 3 to 5 days of the last exam shift, JEEC UP releases provisional answer keys with the question paper and recorded response sheet after each shift of the exam. Based on the 2025 cycle — where the exam ran June 5 to 13 and the answer key appeared June 17 — the JEECUP 2026 provisional answer key is expected between May 25 and May 27, 2026 at jeecup.admissions.nic.in.
This article tells you how to download it, how to calculate your score before the official result, and how to raise an objection if you believe any answer is wrong.
JEECUP Answer Key Is Group-Wise — Download Only the One That Matches Your Exam Group
JEECUP is not a single exam. It runs across multiple groups — Group A for Engineering Diploma, and Groups B through K8 for other diploma courses including Agriculture Engineering, Fashion Design, Hotel Management, and more. Each group has a different question paper and therefore a different answer key.
When JEEC UP releases the provisional answer key, it publishes separate PDFs for each group. Downloading the wrong group’s answer key gives you wrong answers and a completely wrong score estimate. Your exam group is printed on your admit card — check it before downloading.
Group A is the largest group. It covers Diploma in Engineering (Civil, Mechanical, Electrical, Electronics, Computer Science, and all other engineering branches). If you appeared for an engineering diploma, your group is A and your paper had 100 questions across Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics for a total of 400 marks.
How to Download the JEECUP 2026 Answer Key from jeecup.admissions.nic.in
Follow these steps exactly once the answer key is live:
- Open jeecup.admissions.nic.in on your browser or phone.
- On the homepage, look for the link labelled “JEECUP 2026 Answer Key” or “Provisional Answer Key” — it will appear under the Latest News or Notifications section as soon as it is released.
- Click the answer key link. You will be taken to a candidate login page.
- Enter your Application Number and Password — the same credentials you used during registration. Your roll number is also printed on your admit card and may work as an alternative login.
- After login, select your exam group (Group A, B, C, etc.).
- The answer key PDF for your group will appear on screen. Download it and save it.
- Along with the answer key, JEEC UP also makes your recorded response sheet available at the same login. Download your response sheet as well — it shows exactly which options you selected during the exam. You need both to calculate your score accurately.
The portal gets slow on answer key release day. If you cannot access it, try early morning before 8 AM or late evening after 10 PM. The answer key stays available for the full objection window period — you do not need to download it the moment it goes live.
How to Calculate Your JEECUP 2026 Score Using the Answer Key
The marking scheme for JEECUP 2026 Group A (Engineering) is straightforward once you know the numbers.
Every correct answer gives you +4 marks. Every wrong answer deducts −1 mark. Every unattempted question scores 0. Total questions: 100. Maximum marks: 400.
To calculate your estimated score: open your recorded response sheet alongside the answer key. Go question by question. Add 4 for every match between your response and the key. Subtract 1 for every mismatch where you marked an answer. Skip the questions you left blank — they do not affect your score either way.
A simple formula: Score = (Correct answers × 4) − (Wrong answers × 1)
Example: You attempted 80 questions. Of those, 62 are correct and 18 are wrong. Score = (62 × 4) − (18 × 1) = 248 − 18 = 230 out of 400.
This is your provisional estimated score. The final score may differ slightly if any objections are accepted and answers in the key are corrected.
For groups other than Group A, the marking scheme and total marks may differ. Verify the marking scheme for your specific group from the official JEECUP 2026 information brochure at jeecup.admissions.nic.in before calculating.
How to Raise an Objection If You Think an Answer Is Wrong
If a candidate wishes to raise a challenge, they have to pay ₹100 for every question challenged. The online window challenge will be open for a short period of time only. JEEC UP will upload the final answer key after considering all objections raised by applicants.
The objection window typically stays open for 3 to 5 days after the provisional key is released. In 2025, the objection window opened the same day as the key. Do not wait until the last hour — submit your objection the same day you identify the error.
To raise an objection:
- Log in to jeecup.admissions.nic.in with your Application Number and Password.
- Navigate to the Answer Key Challenge or objection link.
- Select the question number you want to challenge.
- Enter your proposed correct answer and upload supporting evidence — a page from NCERT, an official reference book, or any authoritative source that supports your claim.
- Pay ₹100 per question being challenged. Payment is online through the portal.
- Submit and save your confirmation receipt.
Two important points. First, ₹100 per question is refunded if your objection is accepted by the exam authority. If rejected, it is forfeited. Second, objections without supporting evidence are rejected without review — attach a clear, legible reference to every question you challenge.
JEEC UP does not entertain objections raised through email, post, or phone. The online portal is the only valid channel.
After the Answer Key — Result on May 30 and Counselling from June 5
Once the objection window closes, JEEC UP reviews all valid challenges, updates the answer key where necessary, and publishes the final answer key. Final scores are calculated based on the final answer key. The JEECUP 2026 result is expected on May 30, 2026 at jeecup.admissions.nic.in.
The result will show your group-wise marks and your JEECUP 2026 rank. To check the result, log in to the JEECUP candidate portal with your application number and date of birth or password to view and download your scorecard. Download it and keep it safe — the scorecard is required at every stage of counselling.
Counselling registration opens June 5 and runs through July 15, 2026. Counselling requires a separate registration — it is not automatic. Students who do not register for counselling within the window forfeit their rank for this cycle regardless of their score. The moment the result is out on May 30, your immediate next action is counselling registration, not celebration.

Students Ask — Direct Answers
When exactly will the JEECUP 2026 answer key be released?
JEEC UP has not announced a specific date. Based on the 2025 cycle pattern — exam ended June 13, key released June 17 (4 days later) — the 2026 key is expected 3 to 5 days after May 22, putting the release around May 25 to 27, 2026. Keep checking jeecup.admissions.nic.in daily.
Is the answer key available without login?
No. The answer key is only available to students who have participated in the JEECUP 2026 exam. You must log in with your Application Number and Password to access it.
I forgot my password — how do I log in?
Use the Forgot Password option on the jeecup.admissions.nic.in login page. Reset using your registered mobile number or email ID. Do this before the answer key is released so you are not stuck on the day.
Is the answer key the same for all exam shifts?
JEECUP 2026 is a Computer Based Test. Different candidates may receive different question sets across shifts, but the final score is normalised. JEEC UP releases the answer key and response sheet per shift or per group — your response sheet shows exactly which questions you were asked and what you marked.
My score estimate from the provisional key is low — should I be worried?
Wait for the final answer key before concluding anything. If your objections are valid and accepted, your score could improve. Also, the result on May 30 includes normalisation across shifts where applicable. Your rank — not just your raw score — determines admission outcome.
What is the minimum score needed to qualify?
JEECUP does not have a minimum qualifying score cutoff. All candidates who appear get a rank. Your rank determines which colleges and branches you can access during counselling — a lower rank simply means fewer choices, not disqualification. Even students with ranks in the tens of thousands secure seats in private BTEUP-affiliated polytechnics across UP.
Disclaimer: Answer key release timeline is estimated based on the 2025 JEECUP cycle pattern as reported by Careers360 and AglaSem.
